Mark T. Kobata

Mark T. Kobata is a partner in the law firm of Barlow, Kobata & Denis LLP located in Los Angeles, California.  Mr. Kobata graduated from UCLA in 1972 and received his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law.  He was admitted to the California Bar in 1977 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and in various federal District Courts and Courts of Appeals.  He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Claims Court.

Mr. Kobata focuses on representing employers and management in all aspects of employment and labor law, with an emphasis on business planning, litigation avoidance, and defending employers in civil litigation and before state and federal administrative agencies.

Mr. Kobata is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section.  He is a frequent lecturer at seminars and in house training programs on subjects including employment discrimination and harassment, corporate restructuring, affirmative action, personnel policies and procedures, and litigation avoidance.  Mr. Kobata has been a contributor to the monthly human resources magazine, Workforce, and to recent supplements to the CEB (Continuing Education of the Bar) Book entitled, Advising California Employers.

James E. Hall is a partner in the law firm of Barlow, Kobata & Denis LLP located in Los Angeles, California.  Mr. Hall holds a J.D. from California Western School of Law and a Masters of Labor Law (LL.M.) from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.  He was admitted to the California Bar in 1980 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and in various federal District Courts and Courts of Appeals.

Mr. Hall focuses on all aspects of employment and labor law representing management.

Mr. Hall is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section, the California State Bar Labor Law Section and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Labor Law Section.  He is a contributing editor to recent supplements and the Second Edition to CEB's Book, Advising California Employers.  Mr. Hall is also a monthly contributor to the human resources publication, Workforce.


Kimberly Marie Foster

Kimberly Marie Foster joined Barlow, Kobata & Denis LLP's Los Angeles office as an associate.  Ms. Foster focuses on employment litigation, representing California employers in a wide variety of state and federal matters.  She earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2005, and her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego in 2002.  Ms. Foster was admitted to practice in California in 2006 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
