Marty Denis

Partner

Marty Denis is a partner in the law firm of Barlow, Kobata & Denis LLP located in Chicago, Illinois.  He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1967 and Northwestern University School of Law in 1970.
Mr. Denis was a trial attorney with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC) Philadelphia Regional Litigation Center for three and a half years.  He litigated a variety of Title VII cases involving the tobacco, dairy, and transportation industries.  Subsequent to his employment with the EEOC, Mr. Denis was in private practice in New York City and Chicago for several years representing management in EEO matters.

Mr. Denis possesses special expertise in four areas: litigating and counseling clients regarding employment discrimination cases; Executive Order 11246 matters; defamation and state wrongful discharge claims; and matters involving EEO and labor relations issues at the appellate and Supreme Court levels.

Mr. Denis has written extensively and participated in numerous seminars regarding employment issues.


Bethany A. Hilbert

Bethany A. Hilbert is an associate in Barlow, Kobata & Denis LLP's Chicago office.  Ms. Hilbert focuses her practice in employment law defending employers and management, and is experienced in handling state and federal litigation and administrative matters.  She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2003 and her B.A. from Wittenberg University in 2000.  She was admitted to practice in Illinois in 2003 and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.


Samantha Seberg

Associate

Samantha Seberg is an associate in Barlow, Kobata & Denis LLP's Chicago office.  Ms. Seberg's practice focuses on representing employers and management in state and federal employment litigation, as well as administrative matters.  She earned her J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2007 and her B.S. from Illinois State University in 2004.  She was admitted to practice in Ohio in 2007 and in Illinois in 2008.  Ms. Seberg is a member of International Law Fraternity, Delta Theta Phi, and, from 2006 to 2007, was a member of her law school's Moot Court Board of Governors and Senior Editor of Cleveland State Law Review.
